Tanya's Picks- Feb 4th

Hey Music Heads! Thanks for checking out yet another edition of Tanya's Picks....Here's what's in constant rotation on my iPod this week!

Does anybody remember this guy? He had brief success over here in the States in the early 80's. This is one of his bigger hits...from the 1981 album, "Take Me To Your Heaven."

No doubt, definitely one of the more underrated artists of his time. Isaac Hayes did more than just be the voice of "Chef" on South Park (as the youngins would probably know him best). He created nothing short of Soul Masterpieces in his day....This 3 min clip of the whole 15 min song doesn't even begin to do it enough justice....

Sure, the video is cheesy at best..It looks like a bad parody of an 80's video...complete with bad mullets and all....but if you can get past all that...it's actually a pretty good song....This track is off their 1981 debut album...

The Jacksons do New Jack Swing....The production of this song has Teddy Riley written all over it.....Sounds like something that may have originally been intended for his own group at the time, "Guy." Sadly, this album doesn't get the credit it deserves. Not only is it the last album-to-date put out by The Jacksons, but it is actually a solid effort. From the 1989 album, "2300 Jackson Street."

I love when I come across a song that kinda hits me like a ton of bricks. I was surprised that I actually found a Dido song that I liked.....This is from her 2004 album, "Life For Rent."

So there you have it....My choices for the week...Take a listen...Maybe you like them, maybe you won't...but it never hurts to open up your ears to something new....

Until Next Time....
