New Music: Black Coffee Ft Usher- La La La

I think I speak for the rest of the population, when I say emphatically, IT’S ABOUT DAMN TIME!!

In case you haven’t heard, South African DJ, Black Coffee, has just released a new track featuring Usher called “LaLaLa,” and it’s exactly the kind of banger we need to close out the summer.

Over the last few albums, leading up to 2018’s Zaytoven-produced “A,” (which went triple-aluminum), our boy Usher was beginning to sound like he was going through a Mid-Life Crisis! He had become the victim of terrible songwriting, trying to keep up with the current trend of singing over trap beats.

Yes children, you heard me correctly, 40-year old Usher was out here in these streets making trap music!

For a while there, it appeared a though there was nothing left to believe in, but fear not! That phase of his career is hopefully over, and he’s back to doing what he does best.

In this latest track, Usher sounds like man who’s finally got his groove back. His vocals flow effortlessly, gliding all over and through the beat; fitting like a “hand in glove.” This track alone, stands to reason that older artists do not have to completely sacrifice the integrity of their sound in order to be considered fresh, relevant, and appealing to a younger crowd.

Could this be a sneek peak of things to come? Only time will tell…
